About
When I got the idea for this shawl design, I pictured an elegant shawl for cool summer evening parties or indoor gatherings at any time of year. I imagined a shawl elegant enough to wear with a cocktail dress, yet versatile enough for everyday use.

It's a simple stockinette pattern with a garter stitch edge along the top, giving a subtle contrast to the stockinette. Down the center back runs an elegant lace pattern defined with twisted stitches, making the shawl elegant enough for a night out. A twisted rib border finishes the shawl and matches the lace pattern, blending beautifully into the garter edge at the top.
The lace pattern reminds me of an old Norse engraved sword, which is why I chose the name

Valdís, the goddess of the battlefield. Whenever you need protection on your daily battlefield
- grab Valdís's sword and fight.
